Mr. Han Zheng, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Committee , met Nils Anderson, CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, On March 20, 2015. Mr. Chen Xuyuan, Chairman of SIPG, attended the meeting. Han Zheng points out that the development of shipping industry has been closely related to the economic development both of the world and of China. The strategies of "One Belt and One Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Delta" being deployed by China have offered a platform for more extensive cooperation for both sides. Shanghai will continuously improve its competitive edge internationally and better serve the nation by proactively pushing forward the construction of international shipping center, stepping up the development of shipping services, promoting the building of Yangtze River Golden Waterborne Corridor in accordance with the national requirements. Meanwhile, Shanghai will as ever stick to the opening-up policy to fully support globally prominent enterprises like Maersk Group to take part in the construction and work more closely with each other. Nils Anderson is very delighted to witness the progress made by Shanghai in the course of construction of international shipping center. He says that Maersk Group will intensify the cooperation with Shanghai in terms of construction of "One Belt and One Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Delta". He adds that hopefully Maersk Group and Port of Shanghai will further share the experiences of success, extend cooperation and develop more projects for mutual development.
