Shankara Building Products Limited reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2022. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was INR 10,804.4 million compared to INR 5,849.5 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 10,839.9 million compared to INR 5,851.6 million a year ago. Net income was INR 163.7 million compared to INR 35.2 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 7.16 compared to INR 1.54 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 7.16 compared to INR 1.54 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was INR 28,197 million compared to INR 16,361.7 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 28,265.5 million compared to INR 16,384.1 million a year ago. Net income was INR 439.1 million compared to INR 187.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 19.22 compared to INR 8.21 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 19.22 compared to INR 8.21 a year ago.
Shankara Building Products Limited is an omnichannel marketplace of home improvement and building products in India, operating under the brand, Shankara Build Pro. The Company is engaged in selling various building products to Retail, and Channel and Enterprise segments. It caters to a customer base spread across various end-user segments in urban and semi-urban markets through a retail led, multi-channel sales approach complemented by processing facilities, supply chain and logistics facilities. It has various product categories, including structural steel, cement, pipes and tubes, roofing solutions, welding accessories, primers, solar heaters, plumbing, tiles, sanitary ware, water tanks, plywood, kitchen sinks, lighting and other allied products. The Company has a network of around 125 fulfillment centers, including over 90 retail stores that are spread across Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry and Goa.
