Sharp Corporation will introduce the AQUOS sense9 smartphone as a global model. In addition to a wide range of color options, it features a Pro IGZO OLED display that is easy to see even outdoors and a camera that can take beautiful photos from close-up to ultra-wide angle, making it a device that is fun to choose and use. It will be released in Japan on November 7, 2024, followed in sequence by Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore*2.
This model comes in a variety of six colors, from unique bicolor to simple monotone types, where users can choose their favorite type. In addition to its compact size and light weight ofapproximately166 g, it also features waterproof and shock resistance*3that conforms to MIL-STD-810H standards (shock drop resistance is MIL-STD-810G).
The display features a power-saving Pro IGZO OLED with a variable refresh rate of 1 to 120-Hz. In addition to smooth display equivalent to a maximum of 240-Hz*4, the brightness has been increased by about four times*5compared to its predecessor model, making the screen easier to see even under sunlight. Combined with a large-capacity 5,000 mAh battery, it delivers a battery life of two days after a full charge when used for 10 hours a day.
Both standard and wide-angle cameras use 50.3 million pixels resolution. High-quality shooting from close-up to ultra-wide angle can be enjoyed. The standard camera is equipped with a large 1/1.55-inch image sensor and optical image stabilizer, which reduces blur and allows you to take bright, beautiful photos. The wide-angle camera supports macro shooting that allows you to take close-up shots as close as approximately 2.5 cm distance. Even small subjects can be captured up close.

The main body design is supervised by "miyake design", a creative studio founded by designer Kazushige Miyake. Users can choose from six colors, including blue and greige (beige-gray), which allow to enjoy designs that use colors to accentuate the camera panel, and designs that use similar colors for the entire device. The body is light and easy to hold, weighting approximately 166 g, and is waterproof and shock resistance in accordance with MIL-STD-810H standards (shock drop resistance is MIL-STD-810G), enabling users to use it with confidence in your daily life.
2. Pro IGZO OLED screen that combines power saving with a smooth, bright display equivalent to up to 240-Hz refresh rate
The display adopts Sharp's proprietary Pro IGZO OLED, which automatically controls the refresh rate between 1 and 120-Hz. In addition to smooth screen movement equivalent to a maximum of 240-Hz refresh rate, the screen is about four times brighter than the predecessor model, improving visibility. In addition, speakers placed at the top and bottom have a box structure at the bottom (mouth side) to increase acoustic pressure and achieve powerful sound. The CPU uses the high-performance Snapdragon®7s Gen 2 Mobile Platform, allowing users to enjoy smooth and comfortable operation. In addition, it is equipped with a large-capacity 5,000 mAh battery. Combined with the power-saving Pro IGZO OLED, the smartphone can be used for two days on a full charge at 10 hours of use per day.
3. 50.3 MP standard and wide-angle cameras for high-quality shooting from close-up to ultra-wide-angle
The ProPix image quality engine, which adopts the high-quality image technology of the AQUOS R pro series, beautifully renders the texture of details with rich gradation. The 50.3 MP standard camera features optical image stabilizer plus a 1/1.55-inch image sensor that collects high amounts of light, allowing you to take bright and beautiful photos with reduced blur. The wide-angle camera, also with 50.3 MP, supports a wide range of scenes, from macro photography with a close-up up to approximately 2.5 cm to ultra-wide angle. The autofocus function enables to quick focus. Not only the rear-facing cameras, but also the 32 MP front-facing camera supports night mode, so high-quality selfies even in dark scenes such as against a background of festive illuminations can be enjoyed.
