Shree Cement Ltd.'s first-quarter net profit rose 91% compared with the same period a year earlier thanks to higher revenue and a slower rise in costs.
The Indian cement company said late Monday that net profit for the quarter ended June 30 rose to 6.30 billion Indian rupees ($84.6 million).
First-quarter revenue increased 46% from a year earlier to INR36.35 billion. Total expenses rose 35% to INR29.40 billion as depreciation expenses and finance costs fell.
