Shree Cement Ltd.'s fiscal second-quarter net profit rose 6.8% compared with the same period a year earlier, helped by higher revenue and lower taxes.
The Calcutta-based cement company's net profit in the July-September period was 5.63 billion rupees ($75.1 million), it said late Friday.
Net revenue from operations was INR33.73 billion, up from INR32.81 billion a year ago, while tax expenses fell 18% to INR1.65 billion, it said.
