Shurgard signs second purchase agreement in the Paris region in a week

LUXEMBOURG - Shurgard, the largest developer, owner and operator of self-storage centers in Europe - is excited to have signed a purchase agreement for a building in the Paris region.

This announcement comes two days after securing another building acquisition in the same region.

The acquired building is located north-west of central Paris and will be converted into a self-storage facility. The future c. 5,000 sqm self-storage property is set to open by end 2022 and will offer approximately 800 self-storage units to the area.

As a result - Shurgard has already secured five new organic store openings in Europe for next year (2022), four of which are located in the Paris region and another one in Germany (Cologne region).

Shurgard is currently offering self storage in 40 properties in the Paris region and has also six other projects in the pipeline, reinforcing our leadership position in that region:

1. Argenteuil (north-west of Paris): c. 7,500 sqm and set to open in 2021
2. Morangis (south of Paris): c. 6,000 sqm and set to open in 2021
3. Lagny (east of Paris): c. 5,500 sqm and set to open in 2022
4. Other property I (east of Paris): c. 5,200 sqm for which a regular building permit process is ongoing
5. Other property II (south-west of Paris): c. 5,000 sqm building conversion
6. Other property III (north-west of Paris): c. 5,000 sqm building conversion

Shurgard has a solid pipeline with the delivery of seven properties this year (with Barking delivered in January 2021) and five properties in 2022 - in line with our development target for new stores.

In total we already have 7% of our total surface in development (80,000 sqm) for the current year and 2022.
