Siderúrgica Venezolana SIVENSA SA reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended March 31, 2017. For the three months, the company reported gain in operations of VEF 144.8 million compared to the loss of VEF 66.4 million during the same period of 2016. Loss before tax was VEF 338.4 million compared to VEF 126.7 million in the same period of the previous year. Net loss was VEF 338.2 million compared to VEF 126.7 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Net loss attributed to the company's shareholders was VEF 342.6 million compared to VEF 112.9 million registered in the same period of the previous year. The net loss of the quarter attributed to the company's shareholders includes the results of the company and affiliated companies' operations, mainly after the participation of 31.46% of the IBH's minority shareholders in the net results if said affiliate for the three-month periods ended on March 31, 2017 and 2016. The company reported negative return over assets of 0.26% and negative return over equity of 0.43% compared to return over assets of 0.07% and return over equity of 0.12% a year ago. For the year to date, the company reported operating loss of VEB 231,327,000 against VEB 162,840,000 a year ago. Net loss for the period was 947,625,000 against VEB 128,610,000 a year ago. Net loss for the period attributed to the company's shareholders was VEB 967,087,000 against VEB 106,620,000 a year ago.
