HANNOVER (dpa-AFX) - Artificial intelligence, hydrogen and climate-friendly production are the major themes at this year's Hannover Messe. "We want to show how industry can remain competitive in the future," said trade fair boss Jochen Kockler on Wednesday at the presentation of the program. In his opinion, artificial intelligence (AI) will play a decisive role in this. Accordingly, the topic will be a new focus at the world's largest industrial show.

From April 22 to 26, 4,000 exhibitors are once again expected at the trade fair, the same number as at last year's edition. Numerous technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services, Dell, SAP, Siemens and Bosch have also registered. There will also be a number of medium-sized companies and more than 300 start-ups. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Prime Minister of this year's partner country Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, are expected to attend the opening ceremony./fjo/DP/jha
