Eckard Eberle appointed as new CEO of Siemens Global Business Services
Hannes Apitzsch to retire; business to be handed over effective October 1, 2022
Eckard Eberle - formerly CEO of Process Automation Business Unit at Siemens Digital Industries - has extensive track record inside and outside Germany
Eberle will focus on developing the business strategically and operationally creating additional value for Siemens Group
Eckard Eberle (57) will be appointed as the new CEO of Siemens Global Business Services (GBS) with effect from October 1, 2022. He will report directly to Judith Wiese, member of the Siemens AG Managing Board and Chief People and Sustainability Officer (CPSO). GBS designs, develops and operates efficient and innovative business services for Siemens AG, Siemens Healthineers AG, Siemens Energy AG and other companies. Eckard Eberle succeeds Hannes Apitzsch (64), who has led GBS since 2019 as CEO and is entering retirement after more than 40 years at the company. Hannes Apitzsch will continue to support Siemens in an advisory capacity until December 31, 2022.

As CEO of the Process Automation Business Unit at Siemens Digital Industries, Eckard Eberle has been responsible since 2014 for the areas of development, production and quality management as well as for the sale of products, solutions and systems for automation in the process industry. Having held various management positions inside and outside Germany, Eberle, who holds a degree in electrical engineering, brings broad experience in many business fields at Siemens.
