Eckard Eberle (57) will be appointed as the new CEO of Siemens Global Business Services (GBS) with effect from October 1, 2022. He will report directly to Judith Wiese, member of the Siemens AG Managing Board and Chief People and Sustainability Officer (CPSO). GBS designs, develops and operates efficient and innovative business services for Siemens AG, Siemens Healthineers AG, Siemens Energy AG and other companies. Press release

As CEO of the Process Automation Business Unit at Siemens Digital Industries, Eckard Eberle has been responsible since 2014 for the areas of development, production and quality management as well as for the sale of products, solutions and systems for automation in the process industry. Having held various management positions inside and outside Germany, Eberle, who holds a degree in electrical engineering, brings broad experience in many business fields at Siemens.

"GBS is a great business. I see plenty of potential here, and I am looking forward to shaping the next phase and driving the ongoing development of our services and solutions. GBS makes a key contribution to the value and productivity of the entire Siemens Group. We also leverage digitalization to improve our customers' business success and to sharpen our own competitive edge," explained Eckard Eberle.

Beginning in 2019, Hannes Apitzsch transformed GBS from an internal service provider into a highly efficient powerhouse for innovative business services. "I'm very pleased to be handing GBS over to Eckard Eberle, who will take GBS forward successfully. In recent years, GBS has evolved into a competitive and professional business services organization, making a key value contribution for the Siemens Group," said Hannes Apitzsch.
