Siemens has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Boston-based Dotmatics, a leading provider of life sciences R&D software, for $5.1bn from Insight Partners.
This acquisition represents a strategic step for Siemens, extending its comprehensive digital twin technology and AI-powered software to this fast-growing complementary market, the German group explains.
According to Siemens, Dotmatics offers a platform that accelerates customer innovation, providing next-generation collaboration and contextualized data to enable the development of multimodal AI-powered medicines.
Siemens anticipates immediate accretive effects on its growth, EBITDA margin and free cash flow, before synergies. The transaction's completion, which is subject to customary approvals and conditions, is expected in H1 2026.
