The energy technology group Siemens Energy wants to put the crisis at its Spanish wind energy subsidiary Gamesa behind it once and for all and is bringing the first of the two onshore turbine types that were taken off the market back onto the market.

In August, the Group announced that the Type 4.X would be available again in selected countries by the end of the 2024 financial year (end of September). The Group did not specify which countries on Thursday. According to insiders, sales will mainly start in southern Europe, and binding and non-binding bids are possible. Some customers have already been approached. The 5.X platform will continue to be sold over the course of the coming fiscal year. Siemens Gamesa has undertaken a comprehensive root cause analysis of the quality defects. The problems had cost Siemens Energy billions in losses.
