HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Signet Jewelers Ltd. (SIG) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $138.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had profit of $2.23 per share.

The jewelry company posted revenue of $1.69 billion in the period.

For the current quarter ending in August, Signet said it expects revenue in the range of $1.6 billion to $1.65 billion.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $6.5 billion to $6.65 billion.

Signet shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than quadrupled in the last 12 months.
