HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Signet Jewelers Ltd. (SIG) on Thursday reported a loss of $83.5 million in its fiscal first quarter.

The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of $1.89 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $2.86 per share.

The jewelry company posted revenue of $1.84 billion in the period.

For the current quarter ending in August, Signet said it expects revenue in the range of $1.79 billion to $1.82 billion.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $12.72 to $13.47 per share, with revenue ranging from $8.03 billion to $8.25 billion.
