Signify announced Wednesday that it has appointed As Tempelman as CEO, a position the new executive will assume on 1 September.
The Dutch lighting specialist announced last month that it was looking for a new CEO after its long-time boss Eric Rondolat decided to retire.
After a previous stint at Shell, As Tempelman is currently CEO of Eneco, a green energy supplier operating in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Under his leadership, Eneco has tripled its profitability since 2020 and reduced its GHG emissions by 40% per year.
As Tempelman's appointment will be put to a vote by shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for July.
In the meantime, CFO Zeljko Kosanovic will continue to serve as interim CEO.
On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Signify shares rose 0.3% on Wednesday morning in a broadly unchanged market.
