SIMONA : at BAU 2017

In 2017, SIMONA AG will be exhibiting at BAU for the very first time, where it will showcase a range of semi-finished plastics used for applications in the construction and advertising industries. The world's premier trade fair for architecture, materials and systems takes place in Munich from 16 to 21 January 2017.

In 2017, SIMONA AG will be exhibiting at BAU for the very first time, where it will showcase a range of semi-finished plastics used for applications in the construction and advertising industries. The world's premier trade fair for architecture, materials and systems takes place in Munich from 16 to 21 January 2017. SIMONA will be unveiling a new, low-flammability version of SIMOWOOD at the upcoming event. The focus will also be on SIMOSHIELD, which encompasses a range of PVC-T sheets used in door fabrication, and SIMOFLOOR, a substrate sheet for floor coverings.

A sustainable material that looks and feels like wood, has the same versatility as wood in terms of processing and is as pliable as plastic - the essential features of SIMOWOOD made of Resysta. The largesized sheets made of Resysta are a real alternative to products made of wood. The polymer containing an eco-friendly filler that includes rice husks is extruded to create sheet products that are specially processed to look and feel like real wood. Compared to wood-based products used in this area, the moisture-resistant sheets do not swell when exposed to water, are weatherproof and offer the benefit of anti-slip properties when wet. This makes the material suitable not only for indoor but also for outdoor use - while also conserving valuable resources.

At BAU, SIMONA will also be presenting a specially developed product variant that meets International Maritime Organisation (IMO) specifications for low flammability. SIMOWOOD IMO fulfils the requirements for use as a material in bulkheads, walls, ceilings, linings and flooring within the commercial shipbuilding industry.

SIMONA SIMOSHIELD encompasses a range of PVC-T sheets with a visible and palpable woodgrain finish. Developed specifically for the door manufacturing industry, they feature an IR-reflective decorative foil.

In SIMONA SIMOFLOOR, SIMONA has developed a product designed specifically for flooring production. SIMOFLOOR is used as a core material on to which a vinyl surface is placed in laminate flooring. As the moisture-resistant material shows no signs of swelling when exposed to water, it is also perfect for damp-room applications.

The portfolio also includes products that are suitable for use in the fields of exhibition design and digital printing. This includes transparent materials such as SIMONA PVC-GLAS and SIMOLUX as well as foamed sheets in the form of SIMOPOR, SIMONA COPLAST-AS or SIMONA PE FOAM.
