Skanska has signed a contract with Svenska kraftnät to build underground cable systems in southern Stockholm, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 310M, which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden for the second quarter of 2021.

The project includes two complete underground cable systems with a total stretch of approximately 5.7 kilometers between Skanstull and a new substation in Snösätra and between Snösätra and Högdalen. The purpose is to reinforce the area's electricity grid, as the demand is growing, and thereby secure the power supply in Stockholm.

Construction is expected to start in May 2021 and will be completed in April 2023.
