New Download to Go feature gives users freedom on the go

SKY customers can now download great content to view when they are offline thanks to the new Download to Go feature on the SKY GO App.

While connected to the internet, users can browse a huge selection of TV series and movies based on the channels they subscribe to and download content directly to their mobile or tablet to watch at a later time.

Anyone can download the SKY GO App for free and whether it's family-friendly films, gritty HBO series, heart-warming romantic watches, crime dramas, kitchen capers, good belly laughs, or getting stuck into some of Prime's hit CBS series' - Download to Go allows customers convenient access to SKY's outstanding premium content, on their own terms.

'The timing of the launch for our new Download to Go feature on the SKY GO App couldn't be better as we head into the summer holidays,' says SKY's Director of Entertainment Content, Travis Dunbar.

'Now our customers can download favourite series to binge at the bach, take a movie away to watch on a rainy day, or have a range of family-friendly titles on hand on their devices to occupy the kids on a long drive, all without the need for Wi-Fi.'

Hundreds of titles are now available to download, with new content added regularly. Users can find a full alphabetical list of what's on offer by a simple click on the DISCOVER GREAT DOWNLOADS button on the MY DOWNLOADS tab on the App's main menu.

Download to Go at a glance:

• Download to Go allows SKY GO App users connected to the internet to download selected TV series and movies direct to devices to watch when offline, based on the channels they subscribe to
• Customers can download content to any device that is registered to their SKY GO account via the MY DOWNLOADS tab on the App's main menu
• A huge selection of great TV, family and movie titles are available, with new titles added regularly
• Prime's studio partner CBS has opened up their content to Prime viewers who are registered for SKY GO
• An alphabetical list of Download to Go content is easily found by clicking on the DISCOVER GREAT DOWNLOADS button at the bottom of the MY DOWNLOADS tab on the App's main menu
• Customers have 30 days to watch a downloaded piece of content before it expires
• If distribution rights expire before the 30-day period, the content will automatically delete from the device
• Once a customer has started to view a piece of content it will remain available for 48 hours
• To download a movie, customers simply click on the download icon to the right of the title
• TV Series are available to download one episode at a time by clicking on the download icon to the left of the play button next to each listed episode
• On average, a 60-minute item could use around 0.77GB to download, and a 120-minute item could use around 1.54GB
• SKY GO App offers content in standard definition, at a resolution optimised for viewing on devices
• Customers can download up to 25 titles at one time based on the channels they subscribe to
• Due to specific content rights, SKY GO App downloads are not able to be viewed outside New Zealand
• The SKY GO App is available free to anyone in New Zealand for both iOS and Android devices - content available to view is based on the channels the customer subscribes to
• Supported devices are iOS 9 and above, and Android 4.4 and above
