SMRT EXTENDS TRAIN AND BUS SERVICE HOURS AND RUNS FREE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE TO CHINATOWN FOR LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS

1. SMRT has extended train and bus service hours and is running a free shuttle bus service to Chinatown on 20 - 22 January.

Extended train service hours

2. Train service on the North-South, East-West Lines (NSEWL) and Circle Line (CCL) will be extended on 20 - 22 January 2012.
3. Last trains from Outram Park Station:

Passengers on the last eastbound train can connect to the last northbound train at Raffles Places Station. On 20 January, the last northbound train service will terminate at Jurong East Station, and on 21 and 22 January, it will terminate at Woodlands Station.
4. Passengers on the last westbound train can connect to the last southbound train at Jurong East Station. On 20 January, the last southbound train will terminate at Kranji Station, and on 21 and 22 January, it will terminate at Marsiling Station.
Passengers on the last westbound train can also connect to the last two Circle Line trains (in both directions) at Buona Vista Station. These last two train services will terminate at Farrer Road Station and Har Par Villa Station on 20 - 22 January.

5. Last trains from Dhoby Ghaut Station (NSWEL):

The last train service towards HarbourFront will terminate at Caldecott Station on all three days. There will be no connection to a northbound train at Bishan station. Passengers who wish to connect to the last northbound train at Bishan station should take the 1.08am train towards HarbourFront on 20 January, and the 2.16am train on 21 and 22 January.
The last train service towards Dhoby Ghaut will terminate at Mountbatten Station on all three days. There will be no connection to an east- or westbound train. Passengers who wish to connect to the last east- or westbound train at Paya Lebar Station should take the
12.41am train towards Dhoby Ghaut on 20 January, and the 1.53am train on 21 and 22
January.

8. Train services to Expo and Changi Airport stations are not extended. Last train timings are:
- Last train departing from Tanah Merah Station to Changi Airport Station: 11.50pm.
- Last train departing from Changi Airport Station to Tanah Merah Station: 12.06am.
- Last train departing from Expo Station to Tanah Merah Station: 12.11am.

Free bus shuttle to Chinatown from Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place MRT stations

9. To bring greater convenience to train commuters enjoying the festivities at Chinatown, SMRT is providing a free bus shuttle service from Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place stations to Chinatown. The service will stop at nine stops along South Bridge Road, South Canal Road and Robinson Road. On 20 January, the free bus shuttle service runs from
8.00pm to 12.30am, and on 21 and 22 January it will run from 8.00pm to 2.00am. Please refer Annex for details.

Bukit Panjang LRT Services

10. The last Bukit Panjang LRT train service will be extended to match the last MRT train service at Choa Chu Kang MRT Station on 20, 21 and 22 January. The last Bukit Panjang LRT train will depart Choa Chu Kang LRT Station at 2.05am on 20 January, and at 3.17am on 21 and 22 January.
11. Passengers can refer to notices in all SMRT MRT and LRT stations for information on the extended operating hours.

12. SMRT will be extending the operating hours of the following bus services to match the last MRT train timing during Chinese New Year:

14. SMRT NightRider services NR1, NR2, NR3, NR5, NR6, NR7 and NR8 will operate on 20
- 23 January from 11.30pm to 4.30am the following day, providing affordable and safe travel for commuters heading home from Marina Centre, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World at Sentosa to areas like Yishun, Sembawang, Bukit Batok, Jurong West, Hougang
and Sengkang.
