San Donato Milanese (Milan), 08 July 2021 - During the Green Week (6-8 July), an initiative dedicated to sustainable development promoted by ItalyPost together with Fondazione Symbola and Corriere della Sera, Snam opened the doors of its plants to university students and PhD students who took part in the Italian tour 'Le Fabbriche della Sostenibilità'.

The first visit took place at the Azzano Decimo (Pordenone) plant developed by IES Biogas, a subsidiary of Snam4Environment, leader in the design, construction and management of biogas and biomethane plants in Italy and abroad. The facility can produce up to 4,200,000 cubic meters of biogas per year, transforming agricultural waste into renewable energy, to the benefit of the environment and the community.

The second stop was at the Snam gas compressor station in Sergnano (Cremona), which is a strategic infrastructure for the supply and transport of gas in Italy and for the interconnection of the domestic network with Europe.

During the experience, the young visitors were also able to attend the planting of twelve trees (ash and maple trees) by Arbolia, the benefit corporation launched in November 2020 by Snam and Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti to develop new urban forests in Italian cities and territories. Six green areas, for a total of 11 thousand plants, have already been created in Turin, Parma, Rovigo, Pignataro Maggiore (Caserta) and Lecce.

For Snam, sustainability is an integral part in defining business strategy, investment decisions and daily practice and an important development factor for all business sectors.
