Ajit Mohan, the managing director of Facebook India, has stepped down after a four-year stint. He will join rival Snap as the president of its Asia-Pacific business. Mohan will join his new role in February, and will be a part of the company's executive team — leading Snap's cross-functional efforts across India, Australia & New Zealand, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea.

Ajit will be a member of Snap's executive team and report to (Snap COO) Jerry Hunter. Similar to the global structure in Americas and EMEA, the regional sales teams will report to the new President, with Kathryn Carter (KC) and her current Apac sales teams, as well as the India and China sales teams reporting to Ajit. For Snapchat, Mohan joins in to lead an important market – given that the Apac region contains approximately two-thirds of total addressable markets of smartphone users aged 13 and above, who do not yet use Snapchat.
