Eurostar International Limited agreed to acquire 40% stake in Thalys International S.C.R.L. from SNCB SA (ENXTBR:001062148) and others on September 27, 2019. Post completion, Eurostar International Limited and Thalys International S.C.R.L. will be merged. Transaction is subject to approval from the board of SNCF Mobilités and SNCB SA (ENXTBR:001062148) and clearance of the European Commission. Rothschild & Co SCA (ENXTPA:ROTH) acted as financial advisor to SNCF Mobilités. BNP Paribas acted as financial advisor to Eurostar International Limited in the transaction. The project is called as "Greenspeed". As of September 16, 2020 Eurostar International Limited and Thalys International S.C.R.L. will merge in 2021. Eurostar International Limited completed the acquisition of 40% stake in Thalys International S.C.R.L. from SNCB SA (ENXTBR:001062148) and others on May 1, 2022. As of January 24, 2023, Eurostar Group, which brings together Thalys and Eurostar, revealed the new brand which will allow the company to develop as a single entity. The new entity will offer the largest international high-speed network in Western Europe and has set itself the objective of deploying an ambitious environmental policy in the coming years.
