Soken Chemical & Engineering Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ:4972) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to 80,000 shares, representing 0.96% of its share capital, at ¥1,210 per share for ¥96.8 million. The company will repurchase its shares in order to enable the implementation of a flexible capital policy in response to changes in the business environment. As of August 31, 2019, the company had 8,296,076 shares outstanding (excluding treasury shares) and 3,924 shares in treasury.
Soken Chemical & Engineering Co., Ltd. is primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of chemicals, the sale of devices and systems, as well as the provision of engineering services for manufacturing systems. The Company operates in two business divisions. The Chemicals division is engaged in the manufacture and sale of adhesives, fine particles, special performance materials and processed products. The Device System division is involved in the sale of devices and systems, the engineering of manufacturing systems, the provision of maintenance services for plants, and the import and sale of heating medium oil. As of March 31, 2014, the Company had nine consolidated subsidiaries and one associated company.
