Solvay has appointed three new members to its executive committee. Augusto Di Donfrancesco, Hua Du and Cecile Tandeau de Marsac joined the committee, with immediate effect. Di Donfrancesco has led Solvay's specialty polymers global business unit (GBU) since 2011, and Hua Du has been head of the specialty chemicals GBU since 2015.

Tandeau de Marsac heads human resources. Solvay also said that Roger Kearns, a member of the executive committee and supervisor of the advanced materials segment, decided to return to the US, having accepted a new position in his home country. The new executive committee consists of CEO Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, Vincent De Cuyper, Augusto Di Donfrancesco, Hua Du, CFO Karim Hajjar, Pascal Juery and Cecile Tandeau de Marsac.

Solvay announced that it is speeding up plans to find a successor to Clamadieu as CEO. Clamadieu is set to become chairman of Engie.
