Tokyo, Japan - Sony Corporation ("Sony") will be exhibiting at CEATEC 2020 ONLINE from October 20 to 23, with the theme "3R Challenges for The New Normal World."

The overarching message of this year's CEATEC, to be held online, is "Connecting Society, Co-creating the Future," and aims to bring together the products, services and solutions that will support Society 5.0, the society of the future. As people adapt to a "new normal" where they are constrained from gathering and moving around, Sony is leveraging its "3R Technology" - Reality, Real-time, and Remote - to inspire emotion through the power of entertainment, and provide the assurance that supports these experiences. At CEATEC, Sony will present twelve videos showcasing these efforts. Titled "3R Challenges," these will consist of two videos addressing the challenges Sony is undertaking in sports, six in entertainment and the remaining four addressing social issues. These videos will be accessible exclusively to media representatives from October 19, all CEATEC registered visitors from October 20 to 23, and will then be open to the public on Sony's official YouTube channel from October 24. Examples of the challenges to be introduced:

- Hawkeye's vision-processing technology and optical tracking system

- Virtual Production Lab recently opened at Sony PCL

- Volumetric capture technology that captures entire spaces

- Intelligent vision sensors with AI processing functionality

As a creative entertainment company with a solid foundation of technology, Sony is committed to contributing to society in the new normal world by delivering Kando (emotion) and assurance to people, through its Reality, Real-time, and Remote, "3R Technology."
