Have you ever wondered what a submersible pump is and what it is used for?

Please read our blog to find out what a submersible pump is and what applications it can be used for, what types of submersible water pumps are available and their features and benefits.

What is a Submersible Pump used for?

A submersible pump, also known as a submersible water pump, is a pump that can be fully submerged in water. The motor is hermetically sealed and close-coupled to the body of the pump.

The submersible pump is used for draining water, if you have a swimming pool or pond in your garden the water pump is ideal for draining them, reducing water levels, or adding clean water.

Submersible pumps are also used to extract water from work and construction sites, reducing groundwater, pumping dirty water, and draining wastewater from flooded areas.

A major advantage of a submersible water pump is that because they are submerged in the fluid, they never had to be primed, these pumps are also energy efficient as water pressure pushes the water into the submersible pump, they don't spend a lot of energy moving water into the pump.
