SPIE announces the launch of Fabloop, its smart data management offer dedicated to manufacturers

Cergy, 9 September 2021 - The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, a French subsidiary of the SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the fields of energy and communications, is launching Fabloop in France to help manufacturers tackle their Industry 4.0 challenges. With Fabloop, the Industrie division, renowned for its process expertise, is helping its customers to put their data to work in their industrial performance.

Fabloop, a 4.0 response to the industry challenges

There are numerous benefits to Industry 4.0 and its fields of application. Optimising maintenance plans is one example, as is improving productivity or controlling the environmental footprint.

Conscious of the fact that industrial data assets are a source of progress and performance, if they are used by a manufacturer for manufacturers, the Industrie division is launching a tailor-made Smart Data Management offer, 'Fabloop', born from a simple observation: transition to Industry 4.0 must be accomplished with industrial process experts.

'The Industrie division has in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of processes, inherited from our many years of experience working alongside manufacturers. It is because we speak the same language as our customers that we can support them in their strategic operating decisions, as well as in their energy and digital transitions, in complete security', highlights Fréderic Toussaint, General Manager of the Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire.

A response developed alongside the customer

Fabloop makes it possible to meet the challenges faced by manufacturers by combining the power of a secure digital platform with a method of co-development, built around the customer, their needs, their processes and their manufacturing issues.

The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire has therefore set up a dedicated task force to support its customers in their manufacturing transformation. By involving the many stakeholders in such a project (maintenance managers, technical managers, new works managers, CIOs, innovation managers, operations managers, production mangers, etc.), this task force enables collective intelligence to be harnessed.

Convinced that the best solution is derived from a multidisciplinary approach, SPIE brings together data and process experts to work together with the customer to devise the simplest and most effective solution for their business.

'After carrying out a study on the existing digital offer for manufacturers, the Industrie division designed, in partnership with SPIE ICS, a digital services subsidiary of SPIE France, a pioneering solution capable of interacting with all digital manufacturing systems and meeting many criteria: adaptability to the customer's IT environment, sustainability of software and development, single or multi-site deployment, etc., while respecting cybersecurity constraints', explains Jérôme Morisson, Solutions & Expertise manager at the Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire.

ROI[1], principal performance indicator

Fabloop; the name is new but the method has already been approved by many manufacturers, particularly from the energy, aeronautical and agri-food sectors. While the sectors vary, the goal remains the same; to implement the best solution that will provide an effective ROI.

For example, the Industrie division enabled one of its customers in the agri-food sector to eliminate 100% of mixing incidents and another customer in the aeronautical sector to significantly reduce shutdowns in the production chain by anticipating critical breakdowns.

By integrating this ROI rationale from the co-development work, the teams of the Industrie division select, adapt or create the best technical and economic solution with the customer to address their challenges and needs. For example, for a customer in the energy sector, SPIE's process, data and robotics experts, working in a workshop with the customer's project manager and information system manager, adjusted the technical response to make it simpler and less costly, thus offering an optimised ROI of 30%.
