SPIE gains the renewal of the fire fighting systems at Oiltanking Amsterdam

Amsterdam/Schiedam, August 2nd, 2017 - SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, will renew the fire detection and the fire fighting systems at the plant of Oiltanking Amsterdam. The complexity of the work lies in working on a terminal that is in full operation, which means that all fire protection systems must be available at all times.

Three SPIE Nederland's business units, Piping & Mechanical, E&I and Engineering, have joined forces to keep this multi-technical contract completely within SPIE. SPIE's tasks includes servicing the connection to the valve station and to the extinguishing and cooling systems on the tanks, laying power lines between the valve station and different equipments, and applying and replacing cabling for line detection.

Marius Valentijn, SPIE Nederland's team leader, is proud of the successful approach to cooperation: 'It is the first time our site in Schiedam has won, through combined efforts, such an extensive multidisciplinary job. We work internally with people from the Piping & Mechanical, E&I and Engineering business units, and our client benefits from having a single point of contact.'

The implementation of the contract will be carried out in different phases and will be delivered in August 2018.
