The steel company SSAB is selling its production unit in Virsbo to the American company Jennmar, according to a press release. The financial details are secret.

Virsbo produces rock bolts. But since this is not a core business within SSAB, the operation is now being divested. The deal affects 66 people, all of whom are said to have received an offer to continue their employment with Jennmar.

"I am very pleased that such an established company is interested in taking over the production of rock bolts and continuing to develop it. They have long experience in the mining industry and also manufacture expandable bolts themselves in the US," says Sara Valentin Eklöw, responsible for the Virsbo operation and Sales Director for SSAB's expandable rock bolts.

The transaction is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2025.
