SSE PLC said Tuesday that the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks will appeal certain elements of Ofgem's price control settlement to the Competition and Markets Authority.

The FTSE 100 energy company said the appeal by SSEN--the owner of the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland--is technical and narrow in scope.

The appeal will focus on areas where the decision by the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, a U.K. energy regulator, doesn't reflect the evidence provided throughout the price control process, alongside material errors in the decision, it said.

"Our appeal raises technical but very important issues that we are asking the CMA to correct," Managing Director of SSEN Transmission Rob McDonald said.
