Stagecoach introduces twitter accounts at all regional UK bus companies

• All 18 Stagecoach regional bus companies have Twitter accounts 

• Accounts offer real time service updates for customers

• More than 200,000 followers across Stagecoach's bus and rail operations in the UK and North America

Stagecoach has introduced Twitter accounts at all of its regional bus companies across the UK, offering real-time service updates for passengers.   

The launch of the Stagecoach Merseyside account marked the completion of the roll out of Twitter across Stagecoach's UK Bus businesses.  All 18 operating companies - along with Stagecoach's Norfolk Green business - now have individual accounts providing service updates and customer service alongside marketing and promotional campaigns. 

In most areas service updates are delivered directly from operational teams to customers during peak times to help keep passengers informed. 

Social Media Project Manager, Gemma Toolan, said "We're delighted to be able to offer this service to our customers, helping keep them better informed and offering a quick, convenient platform for them to talk directly to us."

"This is just the beginning," she added, "we're already seeing a positive impact and plan to continue to grow the accounts and engage with customers, gaining valuable insight and providing an improved level of customer service."

The Group's coach companies - Oxford Tube, megabus.com UK, Citylink, and megabusGold.com - all have live twitter accounts offering the latest service updates to passengers.

In addition, there is a Twitter account for Stagecoach's megabus.com operations in the US and the Group's rail businesses, South West Trains, East Midlands Trains and Stagecoach Supertram also have Twitter accounts.* 

Stagecoach Group currently has more than 203,000 followers across the Twitter accounts of all of its operations in the UK and North America.
