Stellantis announced on Monday the appointment of Xavier Chardon as Chief Executive Officer of Citroën, succeeding Thierry Koskas, effective June 2.

Under the leadership of Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Enlarged Europe, "Xavier Chardon will be tasked with building on Citroën's recent successes and accelerating the brand's transformation in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape," the automaker said in a statement.

Previously Chairman of the Management Board of Volkswagen Group France, Xavier Chardon began his career at Citroën in the 1990s before joining the German group in 2012.

Thierry Koskas, who took over the helm of the double chevron brand in 2023, is leaving Stellantis.
