(Alliance News) - Stellantis NV has announced the extension of the layoff at its Atessa plant, where it manufactures commercial vehicles.
As Milano Finanza reported Thursday, the layoff, initially scheduled from Feb. 3 to Feb. 16, will be extended until March 2, involving up to 1,500 employees. The decision was motivated by the "market situation," according to a statement from company management to the unions.
The Atessa plant recorded a production of 192,000 vehicles in 2024, marking a 17 percent decrease compared to 2023. Despite an increase in production volumes in the first half of 2024, the trend reversed as of June, highlighting the industry's difficulties even in the segments dedicated to commercial vehicles.
