Stellantis NV will keep selling its premium brand DS Automobiles in China, a spokesman for the brand told Agefi-Dow Jones on Tuesday.

"There is nothing against keeping our presence in China," the spokesman said. "Our course of action is to stay [in China] to start again on a sound basis," he added.

DS Automobiles has seen disappointing sales in China, and some in the market have been questioning its presence following the merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Peugeot SA early this year.

Stellantis will set out its strategy on how to reinvigorate sales in the Chinese market by early 2022.
