February 23, 2021 IMPACT Society and STEP Energy Services - Indigenous Partnership Announcement

February 23, 2021 - STEP Energy Services ('STEP') and IMPACT Society ('IMPACT') are excited to announce the beginning of a strategic partnership between the organizations. The goal of this relationship is to facilitate positive social impact in Canadian Indigenous communities through the delivery of IMPACT's HEROES are Warriors program.

IMPACT has over 25 years of experience building the mental and emotional health of Canadian youth and families. For over a decade, the organization has supported Indigenous communities in their desire to achieve mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. IMPACT Society's HEROES® programs are highly engaging with Indigenous youth and those who support them, with proven outcomes of increased personal confidence, decision-making skills, long-term purpose and an appreciation for culture. Ultimately, personal and community resilience is positively impacted, resulting in the ability to flourish for generations to come.

'As a part of our Indigenous Engagement program, we believe that building relationships with Indigenous communities can help contribute to the economic development of that community' says Steve Glanville, chief operating officer at STEP Energy Services. 'Social resiliency also plays a huge factor in the well-being of a community, and we are confident that our partnership will help support IMPACT and their ability to deliver this valuable and proven program.'

IMPACT's HEROES are Warriors program is currently being delivered in Maskwacis, a central Alberta Indigenous community, home to Ermineskin Cree Nation, Samson Cree Nation, Louis Bull First Nation, and Montana First Nation. The youth mental and emotional wellness program is being utilized by in-community education. Jack Toth, vice-president, external and Indigenous relations at IMPACT comments, 'IMPACT Society is fortunate to partner with a company like STEP which is a forward thinking organization that supports positive social impact - especially as it pertains to Indigenous communities and their quest for community well-being and self-determination. Working with them will help expand the reach of the program beyond what we are able to facilitate today.'
