For the third time running, Stora Enso has been top-ranked in both management quality and carbon performance in the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) assessment.

The Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) has assessed how 18 of the largest paper producers globally are preparing for the transition to a low-carbon economy. For the third time running, Stora Enso was top-ranked in both management quality and carbon performance.

In the report, management quality refers to the quality of companies' governance/management of their greenhouse gas emissions, and of risks and opportunities related to the low-carbon transition. TPI's carbon performance assessment involves quantitative benchmarking of companies' emissions performance against the international targets and national pledges made as part of the 2015 UN Paris Agreement.

Stora Enso was one of four paper companies with the highest-rated quality of greenhouse gas emissions management.

Regarding carbon performance, Stora Enso was one of four paper companies to have the most ambitious targets: set until 2030 and aligned with keeping the global temperature rise below 2-degreeC.
