Fuji Heavy Industries has announced changes to its organization and management to cope with an increasing workload in its engineering and product development operations. As part of the organizational changes, the company will divide Subaru Engineering Division into two units: Subaru Engineering Division 1, responsible for body engineering of vehicles; and Subaru Engineering Division 2, responsible for power-unit engineering of vehicles. The move will facilitate the teams' efficiency.

The company has also announced senior management changes, with Shigehiro Aoyama set to be appointed as new outside director, subject to approval at a shareholders' general meeting in June. Aoyama is currently supreme adviser at Suntory Holdings Limited. FHI has also promoted Tomomi Nakamura, Kazuo Hosoya, and Masaki Okawara to the roles of corporate executive vice-presidents, and Tetsuo Onuki and Yoichi Kato to the roles of corporate senior vice-presidents. Among the newly appointed corporate vice-presidents are Katsuyuki Mizuma, Atsuhi Osaki, and Tatsuro Kobayashi. Masashi Takahashi, who is currently serving as corporate vice-president and chief general manager of Subaru Quality Assurance Division, will retire on March 31. Besides these changes, the company has altered the responsibilities of senior-level management, including directors, corporate vice-presidents, and new corporate vice-presidents. The changes will come into effect from April 1.
