Norwegian rig operator Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract in the US Gulf of Mexico, according to a press release.

The contract is from Shell Offshore and covers the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of a production flowline and associated subsea infrastructure at Shell's Phase 3 Silvertip development.

The exact value of the contract is not disclosed, but is described as a large contract, which Subsea 7 defines as between $50-150 million.

"Project management and engineering work will commence immediately at Subsea7's office in Houston, Texas, with offshore activities expected to commence in 2026," it said.
