Release of Integrated Report 2021

~Special Feature on Creating Value by Harnessing Forest Resources~

Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Toshiro Mitsuyoshi;

Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter Sumitomo Forestry) announced that it has released its Integrated Report 2021 on its website. The report consolidates both financial and non-financial information about the Group's initiatives to increase corporate value.

Sumitomo Forestry Group's Integrated Report conveys to all stakeholders, including shareholders and investors, both financial and non-financial information about yearly performance and medium- to long-term initiatives for corporate value enhancement. It is issued each year with the aim of sparking opportunities for further dialogue.

In the "Sumitomo Forestry Group 2021 Medium-Term Management Plan," which started in 2019, the Sumitomo Forestry Group sets out to "promote further integration of business operations and ESG initiatives" as one of the Basic Policies. The Group aims to solve various social issues, strengthen its business foundations and further promote future-oriented business in this era of change.

This Integrated Report is based on yearly performance for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020 and the current status of business activities. It is composed of four parts: "Sumitomo Forestry Value Creation," "Business Activities and Value Creation (Reports on the Results of each Business Segment)," "Sustainability Management" and "Corporate Governance."

This year, as climate change measures became a major social issue and interest in forest resources that absorb CO2 began growing, the Sumitomo Forestry Group established a special feature titled "Creating Value by Harnessing Forest Resources" to showcase the Group's initiatives.

Going forward, the Sumitomo Forestry Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society by working through management to create shared benefit which consists of environmental and social values in addition to the economic value generated by its business activities.

    • As of the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020, the fiscal term has been changed to end on December 31 instead of March 31; therefore, the report covers a period of nine months.
