BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) _ Surgery Partners Inc. (SGRY) on Wednesday reported a loss of $26.9 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Brentwood, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of 39 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to extinguish debt, came to less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The surgical facilities operator posted revenue of $543.3 million in the period.

Surgery Partners shares have increased 94% since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than tripled in the last 12 months.
