LUXEMBOURG/NUREMBERG (dpa-AFX) - Software provider Suse stemmed its losses in the past fiscal year. The bottom line loss at the Linux operating system specialist was $39.5 million, the company announced Thursday in Luxembourg. A year earlier, Suse had reported losses of $207.6 million. In addition to the growth of the business, cost reductions contributed to the lower loss of the SDax group.

The preliminary figures for fiscal year 2021/22 (end of October) were confirmed by the management led by chief Melissa Di Donato. Sales climbed by 17 percent to 653 million dollars in the full year, the margin before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, adjusted for special effects, reached 37 percent, as in the previous year. This year, as already announced, Suse wants to increase sales by 11 to 13 percent in constant currency and expand the operating margin./men/stk
