Handelsbanken announced that appointed as Carina Åkerström as deputy group chief executive. She is head of Handelsbanken Stockholm and has been a member of the bank's senior management since 2008. Carina kerstrom will also be responsible for Handelsbanken's Large Corporates business. Elisabet Jamal Bergstrom has been appointed chief sustainability officer. She currently works as head of sustainability and will now be a member of the bank's senior management. Elisabet Jamal Bergström succeeds Katarina Berner Frösdal who has been appointed chief operating officer for the business support units at Handelsbanken in Sweden. Both will take up their new positions on 4 October 2016. Michael Green has been appointed senior advisor. His new role includes being a member of the boards of subsidiaries and the boards of regional banks outside Sweden. Michael Green will also work with Groupwide assignments. He will therefore leave his current position as CEO of Handelsbanken Sweden. He will take up his new position on 4 October 2016. Instead, Magnus Ericson, head of Handelsbanken Northern Sweden, Pontus Åhlund, Head of Handelsbanken Central Sweden, Carina Åkerström, head of Handelsbanken Stockholm, Katarina Ljungqvist, Head of Handelsbanken Western Sweden and Göran Stille, Head of Handelsbanken South East Sweden will, from now on, report directly to Handelsbanken's president and group chief executive Anders Bouvin.
