Swiss Re : creates natural catastrophe fund for institutional investors

ZURICH (Reuters) - Zurich-based reinsurer Swiss Re will create a new fund for institutional and designated professional investors to access its natural catastrophe business, the company said in a statement on Monday.

"The Core Nat Cat Fund, the initial fund under the newly created company, will mark the first time Swiss Re opens its natural catastrophe portfolio to investors through a permanent fund format," Swiss Re said.
