Sysmex Corporation has been selected for inclusion in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index and the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index for the sixth consecutive year, the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index for the fifth consecutive year, the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) for the fourth consecutive year, and for the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, which was newly launched this year. Thus we are listed in all the ESG investment indices adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).

Looking at leading global indices, we have also been selected for inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index Series for 15 consecutive years, as well as the MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes and the MSCI SRI Indexes for multiple consecutive years.

In fiscal 2017, Sysmex identified priority issues (materiality) to realize a sustainable society and achieve sustainable growth for the Group. Given the subsequent changes in economic, environmental, and social issues, we updated our materiality and sustainability targets in fiscal 2021, and these have been incorporated into action plans and activities by each division. We have also expressed our support for the recommendations set forth by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), as well as the Carbon Neutral Targets set for 2040, in a move to enhance our responses to the challenges of climate change and enhanced disclosures.

Going forward, we will continue to promote our corporate management with due consideration given to ESG with the aim of creating a sustainable society.
