Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC is a Sri Lanka-based plantation company. The Company is engaged in producing and processing of tea. The principal activity of the Company is the cultivation and manufacturing of black tea. The Company also cultivates rubber and cinnamon on a smaller scale. The subsidiaries of the Company, TTEL Hydro Power Company (Private) Limited and TTEL Somerset Hydro Power (Private) Limited are engaged in generating hydro power. The Company's segments include Tea, Rubber, Mini Hydro Power, and Others. It produces two categories of black teas in 16 tea gardens located in Sri Lanka's tea-growing areas. Specialty tea produced by the Company includes Silver Blossom, Butterfly Blue, Abbotsford Special, Eagle’s Nest, Dragon Ball, Blooming Tea, Jade Delight, Golden Curls, Queen of Blooms, Charcoal Tea, Sparkling Rose, Spirit of Jade, Flowery Blooms, and others. Its high grown estates include Mattakelle, Bearwell, Holyrood, Great Western, Wattegodde, Palmerston and Logie.
