TATNEFT has been recognized as the best according to the results of the International Contest of the Non-Governmental Environmental Fund named after V.I. Vernadsky 'Ecological culture. Peace and harmony' in the nomination 'Conservation of natural complexes and biodiversity'.

TATNEFT presented a popular scientific atlas 'Springs of Life. Tormysh chishmelere' at the contest. The 'Springs of life' has been published in Russian, Tatar and English and dedicated to the unique natural, historical and cultural heritage of the regions of Tatarstan. A colorful atlas tells about the springs of the southeastern part of the Republic, which history is closely intertwined with the yesterday and today of the villages, towns and cities of the oil region.
TATNEFT's environmental initiatives and environmental activities that have been implemented for many years have been logically continued within the framework of the implementation of sustainable development goals, which the Company supports as a member of the UN Global Compact. The environmental programs of the Joint-Stock Company contribute to solving urgent environmental problems in the region. The improvement of springs and other natural sources of drinking water is part of implementing SDG No. 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation'.
Since the mid-90s of the last century, oil workers have restored, equipped and improved more than 500 unique natural sources of drinking water located in the territories of TATNEFT's operations. Almost all the springs are local attractions and popular recreation places for residents of Tatarstan and guests of the Republic.
In 2020 there were more than 500 projects and developments involved, which used to bring practical benefits in the formation of the ecological culture of our country citizens attended the annual international contest, which was established by the V.I. Vernadsky Non-Governmental Environmental Fund named after V.I. Vernadsky in 2012 jointly with the Interregional Public Organization 'GREENLIGHT' and the Interregional Environmental Public Organization 'GREENLIFE'. There were such companies as SIBUR, NOVATEK, Gazprom, Rosenergoatom, educational organizations and public associations, etc. among the participants and winners of the project.
