Young residents at our Stoneley Park development in Crewe recently rose to the challenge of designing a street sign to encourage residents and visitors to drive carefully through the development.

The competition, which saw the winner gifted a family games hamper as a reward, received numerous entries with conscientious residents on the development wanting to play their part in keeping their streets safe.

Six-year-old Nancy Ball, student of Monks Coppenhall Academy, was crowned the winner thanks to her eye-catching design which has now been erected in six different locations throughout the development.

Erin Piazza, Nancy's mum, comments: 'Nancy was absolutely delighted when she heard she won the street sign competition and as her mum I really couldn't be prouder!

'Nancy loves anything creative and spent a lot of time during lockdown being crafty, particularly colouring. She was so excited when the competition arrived and spent a lot of time planning her design so that it was clear for drivers.

'Nancy really wanted her design to encourage drivers to be safe around the development and by using a red car she thought it would stand out on the sign - we hope it has the desired effect and are looking forward to seeing Nancy's artwork around Stoneley Park.'

Stoneley Park has a selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, offering something for buyers at each stage of the property ladder. For families with children, a selection of primary and secondary schools with recent Ofsted ratings of 'good' and 'outstanding' can be found nearby.

Stuart Craig, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North West, adds: 'Firstly, I just want to say a huge congratulationsto Nancy, her design is fantastic, and she is an incredibly worthy winner.

'It is clear an awful lot of time and effort went into her street sign and I am delighted to say it is now up and visible around the development as a brilliant reminder to keep speed down when driving.

'Well done again Nancy, we hope you enjoy the games hamper!'
