Taylor Wimpey : Our sustainability policy is buzzing into action in East Scotland

As part of our commitment to sustainability, our TWES BU has worked closely with its local landscaping contractor to create its first mini bee highway by planting pollinator-friendly plants within its new show area at Ravensheugh, Wallyford. The BU has also planted an informal area of pollinator plants at its Bankfield Brae development in Edinburgh to show what you can achieve in more of an urban setting. Customers to the new show homes in both locations are also invited to take home a free Beebomb, which is a pouch that is packed full of pollinator-friendly wildflower seeds that can be planted anywhere they choose. From gardens to pots or window boxes or just some open ground, the planting of the seeds in each pouch can help to improve habitats for pollinating insects like bees across the local area.

Homeowners moving in this year to both locations will also receive a free Beebomb in their Welcome Pack to encourage them to plant these bee-friendly seeds in their own garden in the hope they love wildlife and bugs as much as we do!

Plans are also well underway to establish a regional B-line by adding bee-friendly plants in two more locations at nearby Sinclair Gardens in Roslin and Weldon Grange in Macmerry.
