TECO Rolls Out AI Energy-Conserving Appliances

In its 2022 presentation for new home appliances today (March 18), TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. rolls out "AI energy-conservation system" and a number of other solutions, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers, which take advantage of software and big data in attaining optimal operating efficiency.

A highlight of the presentation, themed "refrigeration, air conditioning, and smart life," is "commercial AI energy-conserving refrigerating and air-conditioning system," which enables business establishments to cut contract energy capacities for air-conditioning equipment and refrigerating and freezing equipment, thereby attaining optimal energy-conserving effect. Integrating the technologies of weather forecast, load forecast, and simulated equipment energy consumption software, the system can analyze automatically the feedback of onsite equipment parameters for determination via AI optimal energy-conserving operating mode. Via analysis based on data on operating energy consumption, the system can offer optimal operating strategy for commercial or industrial air-conditioning equipment and freezing and refrigerating equipment, plus malfunction alert, not only saving power but manpower, according to TECO.

Another noteworthy item is iAIR "smart healthy air solution," incorporating the functions of thermometer, humidity sensor, and environmental sensing network, covering human body, PM2.5, VOC (volatile organic compounds), plus TaiSEIA smart communications structure, enabling remote monitoring, which can meet air-quality demands for not only residences but also public space. Over 43,000 iAIR systems have been installed at classrooms in 730 schools in Taiwan, offering a healthy learning environment for students.

Also on display is full direct-current variable-frequency one-to-many condensing unit, featuring one main engine for simultaneous freezing and refrigeration at temperatures ranging from 10 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius below zero, enabling segregated flow and space management according the features of different foodstuffs.

Another display is "smart low-temperature cabinet" for fresh foods, which can be installed at community centers to store fresh foods shipped from production sites for retrieval by consumers, especially convenient for salaried people who often cannot stay at home to collect goods they purchase online.
