Stockholm - Tele2 AB ("Tele2") (Nasdaq Stockholm: TEL2 A and TEL2 B) has selected Nokia as its vendor for 5G radio access network (RAN) deployment in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Together with Nokia, Tele2 will roll out the next generation of connectivity infrastructure throughout the Baltics, which will provide both consumers and businesses with better speeds and coverage combined with lower latency and higher reliability.

Tele2 announced its partnership with Nokia for 5G core network deployment in January 2021. In addition, Tele2 and Nokia has now decided to strengthen their partnership by also working together for the deployment of 5G RAN in the Baltics. The rollout of Tele2's nationwide 5G networks in each country will begin once sufficient spectrum has been acquired.

- We now have a strong and reliable partner for our complete 5G rollout in the Baltics and together we will bring a major upgrade to the connectivity in each country, providing our customers with better speeds, reliability and coverage. Nokia provides seamless solutions and state-of-the-art equipment combined with great service. They have been a strong partner to us throughout previous generations of mobile technology and we look forward to continuing this partnership going forward, says Petras Masiulis, CEO Baltics at Tele2.

- We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Tele2 in the Baltics and take great pride in being selected as their trusted 5G partner for this important deployment. Our AirScale portfolio will deliver cutting-edge connectivity to their customers across multiple markets and I look forward to working closely with them on this project and beyond. I am also pleased with our continuing success and momentum in this region, says Tommi Uitto, President of Mobile Networks at Nokia.

As a part of the 5G rollout in the Baltics, the existing 4G networks will be significantly upgraded as well, with increased speeds and capacity combined with improved coverage in each country.
