Telecom Egypt Announces Change to its Board of Directors


Cairo, June 18, 2013: Telecom Egypt (TE) (Ticker: ETEL.CA; TEEG.LN), has today announced that Dr. Ashraf El-Sayed El-Araby has been appointed to the Board of Directors, replacing Mr. Hassan Helmy for the remainder of the current term.
Dr. Ashraf El-Sayed El-Araby served as the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation from August
2012 to May 2013. Prior to this, he headed the technical advisory office of the former Trade & Industry Minister until 2006. Also, he worked as the consultant of the minister of Planning & International Cooperation until 2011.
Dr. El-Araby was an economic expert at the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait until August 2012. Since then, he has continued to work as an economic expert, specialising in issues of planning, economic development and macroeconomic policy. He has published many academic papers in a number of leading international and regional economic journals. Dr. El-Araby received a PhD in Economics from Kansas State University in the United States.
